Morzine is a bustling little Alpine town full of Savoyarde charm and more than enough shops, cafe’s, bars and restaurants to keep you occupied all week long. In winter the town bursts into life with all kinds of activities to get involved in from perusing the weekly market to cheering on the Morzine Penguins ice hockey team. If you like your après ski you’ll be in for a good time here with a great variety of parties to finish off your day. Choose from live music and happy hours to more sophisticated wine bars. For people who want more, there are some legendary nights out to be had along with a huge choice of places to eat for the staff’s night off. Here’s some more useful information on Morzine to help you find your way around.
The Ski Area
In the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, Morzine is linked to 650km of piste with 228 lifts spread between France and Switzerland. With such a large area there really is something for everyone from gentle green runs through the trees to challenging black runs, some amazing off piste and even a half pipe amongst the many parks! From the chalet you can take advantage of the regular free buses that will whisk you to any of the main lifts to begin your day on the mountain. You can find details for lift passes here.
Morzine offers plenty of options for non skiers too from snow shoeing, dog sledding, ice skating, swimming and even ice diving in lake Montriond! Anna and Mike will be on hand to help you find and book any activities that take your fancy and you can find a more extensive list on our Other Activities page.
