Col de la Joux Verte
On the ride out from the chalet we’ll take you on some quiet back streets and through the old part of town, where local people have wood workshops in their houses and every detail is finely crafted. We’ll ride through the small town of Montriond and up towards a beautiful swimming lake. This is a great spot for swimming, SUP and kayaking. There’s also a 3km running trail around the lake.
From the lake onwards the road starts to narrow and steepen as you climb the hairpins. Next up is the village of the goats! The goats have free roam and will be up on tables, in cafes and standing in the middle of the road. Come back here another time and you can buy food for the goats or take a break from cycling, get a coffee and watch the goat chaos!
The climb continues past this little goat village and the gradients become a little easier, as you weave your way up to the top of the climb, just 1km from the ski resort of Avoriaz.
|Distance||Time||Ascent||Average Gradient||Max. Gradient||Category|

The view from the top is well worth the effort and from there its a nice long descent back to base. For those that want to add on a bit more climbing we’ll take you to our secret spot no.1 – an extra 10km with a tough climb, some flattish cycling and another great spot for a coffee!
